DESCRIPTION:THE GREAT WANDERERS — ALMOST SIX MONTHS ON…. On the 23rd of February\, an idea was born.\nAn idea to create a walking group — but not really just for walking.\nSomething for whatever reason you needed it to be.\nTo connect.\nTo breathe.\nTo talk.\nTo be silent.\nTo meet someone new.\nTo get some fresh air.\nTo move your body.\nTo clear your head.\nTo have somewhere to go.\nOr simply to have a reason to get up that day.\nOn Sunday 5th April\, The Great Wanderers took their very first official walk. And now\, this Sunday 4th October\, we are almost six months on. �\nWhat makes me proudest is the community that has grown around it.\nWomen and men. Young and old. People new to the area and people who have lived here all their lives. With a dog\, without a dog. Those who come for fitness\, those who come for friendship\, those who come for connection — and perhaps some who don’t even need to explain why they come at all.\nThere is no expectation. No pressure. No need to be anything other than yourself.\nYou can walk and chat the whole way.\nYou can walk quietly.\nYou can come alone.\nYou can bring a friend.\nYou can come because life is brilliant.\nAnd you can come because life feels a little heavy that day.\nThat was always the point.\nI’m incredibly proud that from one little idea back in February\, The Great Wanderers has grown into a real community.\nSometimes getting out of the door is the hardest part.\nThe rest\, we can walk together…..\nJoin us this Sunday\, 4th October\, and let’s celebrate nearly six months of spreading a little friendship\, hope and community spirit.\nAll aboard.🚂🚂🚂
