Over the past months, through conversations, partnerships and our work alongside Men Walking & Talking, we’ve been reminded just how important simple things can be.
Fresh air.
A gentle pace.
A safe space.
A friendly face.
Community isn’t just built inside four walls — it’s created shoulder to shoulder, step by step.
With that in mind, we are so proud (and just a little excited) to introduce The Great Wanderers — our very own walking group.
Just like our beautiful pub, this is for everyone.
Young or old.
Fit or not-so-fit.
Chatty or quiet.
New to the village or born and bred here.
There are no sign-up sheets.
No booking forms.
No fees.
Just turn up.
🗓 Launch Walk – Easter Sunday

📍 Meet at The Great Western
We’ll head out for around an hour — a gentle ramble along a designated footpath across the land of our friends and neighbours, the Moore family, whom we thank wholeheartedly for once again being part of our journey.
We’ll finish right back where we belong — at the pub — just as we open on our very first Easter Sunday. And of course, you’ll be warmly welcomed inside for coffee, cakes, pastries and all the usual comforts waiting by the fire (or perhaps sunshine, if we’re lucky ☀️).
As we wander into spring together, this feels like a new beginning.
A mindful pursuit.
A neighbourly step forward.
A shared journey.
