What a week.

As August came to a close, we celebrated something very special — our first birthday at The Great Western.

Sunday brought everything we love about the GW together: roasts, BBQ, drinks, cake, live music from Cartoon Tears and a pub full of people who have supported us over the last year.

It meant so much to see people travel in to celebrate with us from Harbury, Southam, Bishops Itchington, Gaydon, Leamington Spa and Warwick. The Great Western may sit in Deppers Bridge, but our community reaches right across this part of Warwickshire.

Over the last year we’ve welcomed families, friends, walkers, dogs, celebrations, Sunday lunchers, after-work drinkers and plenty of people who popped in for one and stayed for three.

We’ve learnt, changed, grown and created something we’re incredibly proud of.

Most of all, we’re grateful.

To our team, our regulars, our local villages, our suppliers, our musicians and everyone who has walked through the door — thank you for making our first year one we will never forget.

Here’s to year two. 🚂❤️
