Some moments feel bigger than the day itself — and this was one of them.

Yesterday, as we officially opened The Little Western, it felt only right that the ribbon be cut by people who are not just our neighbours, but part of the very fabric of this place — the Moore family.

Our wonderful friends and farmers next door, the Moores are always there. From lending us their fields for overflow parking, to arriving with tractors and forklifts just when we need them most — their support has been constant, generous, and quietly invaluable.

But their connection to The Great Western runs far deeper.

Their grandchildren are now the fifth generation of the Moore family to frequent this pub. Back in 1947, just after the war, John’s grandfather, Joseph Henry Moore, took over Walworth and Greenhill Farms — and yesterday, standing with us for the opening, was Andrew’s youngest son, also named Joseph Henry.

A full-circle moment. A living thread through time.

From then to now — from a once-forgotten building to a place full of life again — to share that moment with a family so rooted in this land and this community meant more than we can properly put into words.

To the Moore family — thank you. For your friendship, your support, your history, and for being such a special part of ours.

This is what community looks like…. 🚜🚂✨
