✨ Exactly 4 weeks ago at 2 pm on the 6th of September, we officially opened our doors. That’s 672 hours, 0 minutes and 0 seconds of The Great Western being alive again – and what a four weeks it has been!
We’ve poured hundreds upon hundreds of pints, welcomed countless faces old and new, and shared stories, laughter, and a few of the inevitable teething problems along the way. The kitchen has had its challenges, supply chains have wobbled, roadworks and power cuts tried to trip us up – and yet through it all, your support has shone through.
So many of you have told us how much you’ve enjoyed our hospitality (thank you! 🥂) and a few of you have told us when we haven’t got it right (thank you too – we’re listening and learning every day).
We are so proud of our team, our pub, and most of all this community. This building is well and truly open and here to stay. Our vision is to keep growing, keep welcoming, and keep raising a glass with you all along the way. 🍻
Oh – and our little train has had a bumpy journey of her own, but today she’s joined by a brand-new little sister, Guinevere. 🚂💛
