As we head into the Bank Holiday weekend, throwing open The Little Western for live-fire cooking, BBQ, braai, wood-fired pizzas, cold drinks, music on the lawns and a proper celebration of community, we have just received the most wonderful news…
The Great Western has been named one of the Top 100 places in the UK for outdoor dining.
And honestly? We are knocked off our feet.
We have not yet reached our ninth month of trading.
This beautiful, historic, once-silent pub — a building so dear and precious to us — has been carefully brought back to life with one clear purpose: to create a truly welcoming space. A hospitality-first space. A place for everyone.
For the regulars who pop in for coffee.
For families gathering over Sunday lunch.
For friends sharing drinks in the sunshine.
For those new to the area.
For those whose families have known this place for generations.
For the team who pour their hearts into it every single day.
This weekend feels like the perfect moment to celebrate.
On Saturday, we welcome Braai Lad UK for live-fire cooking demonstrations, alongside the wonderful Aubrey Allen heritage meats, BBQ, braai, pizzas and The Little Western bar in full flow.
Then on Sunday, local legends Cartoon Tears take to our very own Pylon Stage — yes, our little nod to Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage — for live music on the lawns.
Outdoor dining. Fire cooking. Pizza. Music. Bubbles. Beer. Community.
From resurrection to recognition in less than nine months… we are beyond proud, beyond grateful, and beyond excited for everything still to come.
