BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND — WE’RE TURNING ONE! 🎂🥂
30th August… we’ll be marking The Great Western’s very first birthday — and what an epic first year it has been.
We’d love each and every one of you to come and celebrate with us. Bring your family, bring your friends, grab a spot on the lawns and settle in for an afternoon of food, music, drinks and everything that makes The Great Western what it is.
The BBQ will be firing, the pizzas will be flying out of The Little Western, the outside bar will be in full flow and our main bar will be open alongside our full Sunday menu.
And what a year we’re celebrating.
In just 12 months we’ve won an award for our alfresco Little Western, supported local charities and community events, created our own mindful community walking group, cheered on our nations through national and international sporting moments, welcomed customers new and old, received a CAMRA nomination, been nominated in the 100 Best Pubs, and even managed to come third in the carnival!
But the things we treasure most are the moments we’ve shared with you.
We’ve hosted your wedding celebrations, big birthdays and anniversaries, and we’ve also had the privilege of being there when you’ve gathered together to say goodbye to loved ones.
You’ve arrived at our doors on vintage scooters, in vintage cars, on vintage tractors, on horseback and by horse and cart — always with plenty of doggies in tow! We are, however, still waiting for the promised guinea pig in a rucksack!
You’ve played together as families on the lawns, battled it out over the lawn games, stretched out in deckchairs, cartwheeled, roly-polied and, on more than one occasion, nodded off in the sunshine.
You’ve laughed here, celebrated here, worked from pub, raised glasses here and made memories here.
Most importantly, in one short year we’ve built something far bigger than a pub. We’ve built a community. We’ve made friends for life. And we couldn’t have done a single bit of it without you.
So on Sunday 30th August, come and help us celebrate one truly epic first year.
